Inspiring Performance in Science

Nalini M. Rajamannan '81 always wanted to become a doctor. Totino-Grace inspired her to become a great one. Today, Nalini is a cardiologist, associate professor and director of a world-class treatment and research center. The recipient of several prestigious awards, she is a leader in her field of research and has published numerous, ground-breaking articles.

Nalini embraced the Totino-Grace experience as a student. In addition to excelling in the classroom, she ran track, served on student council, joined the cheerleading squad, sang in the choir, and volunteered on a regular basis at local hospitals and nursing homes. "Our teachers inspired us to work hard," states Nalini. "They taught us not just the subject matter, but an approach to life."

Nalini graduated with a strong work ethic, a commitment to helping others, an appreciation for the power of prayer, and a healthy, well-rounded approach to life. These values contributed significantly to her success at the University of Notre Dame, Mayo Medical School, and in her accomplished career as leading cardiologist and researcher.

"Totino-Grace was an extremely wonderful time in my life," adds Nalini. "The Christian environment, the friends I made, the teachers that inspired me to work hard and have fun...I can't even describe what a great place it is."
