Inspirational Film Club Dublin (IFCD) - Promoting Virtues for a Better Society!

Home (2009)

In 200 000 years on Earth humanity has upset the balance of the planet, established by nearly four billion years of evolution. The price to pay is high, but it is too late to be a pessimist, humanity has barely ten years to reverse the trend, become aware of the full extent of its spoliation of the Earth's riches and change its patterns of consumption.

By bringing us unique footage from over 50 countries, all seen from the air, by sharing with us his wonder and his concern, with this film Yann Arthus-Bertrand lays a foundation stone for the edifice that, together, we must rebuild.

...Because after the screening you have the chance to discusss your thoughts with others  and to understand what other people think about the same theme.

...Because you meet likeminded people who want to learn more about themselves, about others and about spirituality as we are all spiritual beings.

...Because you learn a new virtue on each event which is a great toolkit for creating happiness and positiveness within and around you.

"I feel that we should not only maintain gentle, peaceful relations with our fellow human beings bur also that is very important to extend the same kind of attitude toward the natural environment. We need to teach people that the environment has a direct bearing on our own benefit."

Testimonials

"Virtues give guidelines to my life, security to make decisions, as life is full with choices we have to make in every second. What else could give more trustful advice than virtues? The Virtue WithiinWorkshop means a lot to me, because I love meeting and learning from people with different walks of life. Life is a miracle and I learnt how to discover that in my everyday life. The Virtue Workshop creates a remedial atmosphere, where I can put my heart to recover. I have studied philosophy, psychology, cultural studies but these are only rough information until you revive them. These vivid, relaxed workshops always charge me up, and make me feel that I have a place to go with my thoughts, questions and feelings. They motivate me to think further and open up for new ideas without fear. I highly suggest the Virtue Workshops to everybody; especially to those who feel there is something to share from mind, spirit or soul, who are seeking the essence of life and who are willing to work for it. The Virtue Workshops undoubtedly provide an energetic, supportive and receptive atmosphere for people who want to learn more about their inner-self.”

Krisztina Gyure (31) VAT Specialist

"Balazs nicely comforted me that the whole idea of adulthood is just an illusion, because time & money are not the qualities that are important in pursuing one's life to its fulfillment.  I realized that it was spirituality, which was missing in my life's puzzle. Now I finally feel I am a real human being, a spiritual kind of this Earth. And I am finally feeling complete. Nothing is missing in my life. I just see my path of life and a lot of work in front of me. There is no right or wrong, it is not that I was lost before, but rather I was not doing what the most important was to me, and this was a horrible feeling. Now I know I have to be honest with myself."

Zuzana Vankova (27) Sales Executive

"To me the Virtues Within Workshops are about a melting pot of ideas and perspectives towards awareness necessary in dealing with the societal changes coming our way. I have and continue derive inspiration from each virtue workshop run by Balazs Heller who conducts these workshops with a wonderful sense of inclusion, respect and non-judgmental guidance. I come away from each workshop feeling richer even though I share ideas, which I normally would not have entertained. In these Virtue Workshops I always get a sense of unity and fellowship amongst disparate individuals. Balazs has a vibrant optimistic energy guaranteed to awaken you out of your comfort zone in a non-judgmental supportive environment. I recommend the virtue workshops to anyone open to new ideas seeking new solutions, both on an individual and community levels.

Siavash Sefidvash (51) IT support engineer

"These Virtue Within Workshops always seemed to be a very good idea for me. Great thoughts, important conclusions came up on these events. Some of them are important topics in my current life, some are just good ideas to think about and coming from somewhere else but the point is that it's always worth to think about them. First to see the circumstances how these "issues" turn up then to see what they mean and finally how I can build into my everyday life. It's a process like studying new and useful things. I can offer these Virtue Workshops to everybody who would like to study more things about life, about himself and the reason why it's worth to live a full life."

Adam Braun (31) Logistics coordinator, Unilever Ireland

"Perhaps you believe you are aware of the difficulties in your life. Perhaps you feel you can handle them. You know who you are, where you are and why you are there. You have strong views about life and things in the world. Perhaps you think you do not need anybody to advice you or to explain you anything. I am one of these people. Still when I heard about the Virtue Within Workshops by Balazs, I decided to give a try. Partly because I was curious what would happen, partly because the topics announced by him seemed mostly to be interesting to me. And, indeed, it was quite appealing. In fact, Balazs invested time and work in the workshops: he prepared a list of quotations for all topics. Some I found better, some I found a cliché but the quotations gave a good start and basis to the group discussions anyway. The workshops ended with a summary of the lessons we could have learned from each other and from the discussion. Sometimes I agreed with the conclusion more, sometimes less but most times there were some aspects of the topics the workshop gave me to think about later on."

Peter Robert (56) Sociologist

"The Virtue Within Workshop is a great forum to exchange thoughts with interesting people and to see the World from different perspectives. I learnt to handle the difficulties in my life in an effective way, to become tolerant, patient and to accept others’ views and opinions.  I highly recommend the Virtue Workshop to anybody who wants to get out of their own closed World, who wants to grow spiritually and who is ready to learn the essential virtues, which leads to ultimate happiness. It is a journey of the mind and the spirit and it is up to you how much you take on board with you."

Katalin Fejes (31) Tax advisor

"The Virtue Workshops are a beautiful way to discuss and explore main aspects of our lives in a relaxed and focused atmosphere. It is always exciting to get know other people's insight and develop our own ideas. Balazs's subtle guidance lets the thoughts flow free and they are built up on each other thus the outcome is always enriching."

Balazs Keresztury (31) Engineer

"We think life coaching is instrumental for helping people lead a healthy, happy and fulfilling life. Through promoting self-esteem and self-realization it could facilitate to achieve our goals. This is the reason why Virtue Within Workshops are important for us. In addition to helping us to acquire more self-knowledge, these Workshops provided an excellent opportunity to get to know other people’s thoughts, ideas and emotions. We highly appreciated the atmosphere in these Workshops which was tolerant, open and friendly. We are sure other participants felt the same and this resulted in very useful exchange of ideas and experiences, helping us all to develop and enrich our minds and souls. "
