"in Piazza" is the name of our group. We are involved in supporting the Iranian movement, informing and campaigning. We met each other in last June, the day after the iranian elections, the coup. Since then, we never stopped protesting against the false elections and the brutal suppression.
We recognize the urgency of organizing a principled campaign of solidarity with the people of Iran who fight courageously to gain their own freedom against the theocratic regime: we consider ourselves a part of this struggle and we are organizing to support and defend it actively.
We are against any act of war and any type of sanctions
against Iran: they affect the whole population and have a negative effect on the
movement of self-liberation of the Iranian people.
The brutal repression of post-election protests, and the mass media
campaigns that have accompanied show that the authorized military
organizations have gained sufficient force to claim to decide once and for all
the fate of Iran: In this way they have destroyed the little democratic system born with the
repression of the revolution of 1979.
From June 2009,day after day, the protests
have become increasingly radicalized : at first we called for repeat the elections, but today
it is about the whole system. Therefore we should be well aware that to achieve our aims we
need to be organized: that's how we can withstand before the violent
oppression in our country. This is the only way to prepare ourselves
to fight back the forces of a dictatorship which is preparing to take power when the current theocratic regime falls.
We are part of an international movement that protest against 30
years of repression, 30 years of demonstration, 30 years of state terrorism.
Our invitation for all is to join this international movement that is committed
to the human rights and freedom of all people.
