FIELD TRIP TO HEKKLA/KINMOUNT  NOW FULL

On Thursday, April 22nd there will be a field tour to the settlement areas of Hekkla in Muskoka and Kinmount in Haliburton. Tour organizers are Irene and Jim Gibson, and tour host will be Don Gislason, who will have videos to show and tales to tell.  At Hekkla, Bruce Crawford and Edith Smith will show you the church, graveyard and schoolhouse and one of the pioneer homesteads.  Lunch will be served at a cost of $10.  Then on to Kinmount.  There will be two choices:  to walk in with Guy Scott to the actual bridge built by the settlers and then to the village briefly, or go to the village only to see the monument by Gudrun Girgis, tour the sawmill and hear the story from Diane Austin.

Please note***You are on your own for breakfast this day. There are lots of places near by to grab a quick bite to eat. We also encourage you to register in the hospitality suite Wednesday evening if you are able to, so you are less rushed Thursday morning.
