Background

In-House Web Services is owned and operated by myself, Douglas Sloan, as sole proprietor. I retired from the US Air Force in 1992 and moved to Salem, OR to start a new career. As I followed my personal desire to gain a Bachelors' and Master's degree in Biblical Studies, I also began to develop web sites as a hobby.

In time my skills and abilities in web development improved.  People began to contract my services to design, build and maintain professional sites. As clients increased, the demand for my services led to the establishment of a small business previously known as DS Web Services. 


Changing Directions

In 2003, I was hired with State Government and decided to close DS Web Services due to the new full-time responsibility.  However, I continued to develop and maintain several web sites for local churches and no-profit organizations.  I also used this time for professional growth.  I worked hard to improve my HTML coding and graphic design skills and created several new contemporary web templates for future use.  This worked to my advantage, since new web development opportunities always follow me.
New Beginning

A few years later, in 2005, I secured a new position with the State as a web developer, once again following my heart's desire. In this position I design, publish and maintain over 50 corporate level Internet and IntRanet web sites.

With renewed interest, and increasing offers to develop personal and commercial sites, I decided to open a new, more robust In-House Web Services as a part-time, freelance, home-based business.  We have now re-opened for business.
