Islam is a monotheistic religion which has its roots derive from judaism. The founder of Islam is Muhammad, Islam means " Submission" or the total surrender of oneself to god or Allah. Muslims believe that Allah gave Mohammed the Qur'an and that Mohammed is gods final prophet through the Arch-angel Gabriel. There is another set of manuscripts that is the bases of Islam which is the Sunnah or the words and deeds of Muhammed. Adherents are required to follow the five pillars of Islam which are Shahada= profession of faith, Salah= ritual prayer, Zakat= almsgiving, Sawm= fasting during Ramadan, Hajj= pilgrimage to Mecca.
