Updated some stuff.  Mostly an effort to see if this thing still works.  It does.

Sun, May 17, 2009

Longtime no see!  Wow, over two years since updating this page.  I will look into sprucing up this homepage....no promises though.  I need to sort out the content and focus of this page.  Almost looks like I should archive most of this info, and start over fresh.  Here are some updates for ya.

  • I'm on Facebook now.
  • I was on Twitter, but promptly deleted it.
  • I am a homeowner once again.
  • World of Warcraft is on hold for the moment.
  • I still have my old job, but a new boss.
The 'homeowner' thing has me pre-occupied atm, and my PC gaming habits are significantly different from when I started this page...and the original intent of this page was to keep you up to date on all things gaming.

My gaming tidbit of info....take a look at Battlefield 1943.  Looks to be a significantly updated Battlefield game, coming to a store near you sometime this fall.  If you haven't tried Call of Duty: World at War, you're missing out.  The CoD franchise has always been amazing, and WaW is no exception with classic WWII styling, but updated graphics and achievement/levelling system.  And for anyone who can't steer clear of the Sims franchise, there should be refresh coming this summer called, get this, Sims 3.

I am always on MSN Messenger.  Add me via my email address.

Oh my gosh!!!  Looky at how much time has passed since my last update!!  Two things come to mind for which I can blame

1st.  Google.  Yup, they set a MB upload limit to this page (which I am no where near the limit) but don't bother telling you that there is a 100 file upload limit.  So I've uploaded 100 different images and that's all you get.  Bummer eh?

2nd.  World of Warcraft.  What a time sink that is!!  The expansion (Burning Crusade) came out and it consumed my life.  But, I am happy to report that I've suspended my account and am looking forward to seeing daylight once again this summer!   Camping.  Biking.  Whatever.  I'm happy to be out of WoW for a bit.  I do look forward to playing it again in the future....maybe late fall or early winter.

So, what's going to happen??  I am going to rebuild this homepage.  Start from scratch!  Make it more "file efficient" so the Google police don't come knocking on my door.

My advice is, if you haven't visited my "Roadtrips" section, do it now.  I will be removing tons of those pictures to make room for others.  I have many pics from a Florida/Georgia trip, the holidays, etc. that I'd like to put up.

Falcon is back!   Cheers!

All of my efforts are going into the "roadtrip" sections.  So feel free to view our trip thus far.   Whether this is your first time viewing, or your 100th time, feel free to let me know if something isn't working, or just want to let me know what's going on back at home.

Getting internet access has been a challenge.  This motel has great, fast service.  But the knuckleheads at the front desk seem to think that rebooting the routers will fix the problems other people are having connecting up.  Jeez!   Nothing quite like losing access in the middle of a page update.

BTW......only 2 weeks left of this vacation.  wOOt!

well, here we go again.  For the 2nd time in as many years, we are heading out on the road!  4400mi on the motorized suitcase!  Navigate through the "roadtrips" link in the left column.  I should have daily updates on our progress and pictures to share.  Please, shoot me an email and let me know how it's going, and if these pages work OK for ya's!  See ya in 2 1/2 weeks!  Peace.

Another shameless pimping!   A friend of mine (for this, we'll call him "NightOwl"....or "Ian" for short) is opening a gaming/LAN cafe in the small town of Omak, WA called Pwn Cafe.  wOOt!  Myself and many other friends have been up there "testing" the hardware.  Good stuff.   So, visit his website (see linky to the left), then visit his cafe!  Visit often!   5/2009 UPDATE:  Due to the slowing economy, my good friend NightOwl has decided to pull the plug on the LAN operation, and relocate to SoCal with the wifey.  It was a good run.  I did my best to drop a few dollars there when I could.  R.I.P.

Alrighty....I am back!  The move went very well thanks to some incredibly generous friends and family.  They cannot be thanked enough.  The place is still a wreck, and will be for some time as we prepare for our annual roadtrip.  Kitchen is finally looking setup, computers are setup, and the grass is actually starting to green up.....for anyone who saw the yard on the day we moved in.  But, I am still busy as hell and updates will be sketchy at best.  Like I said earlier, honest updates to this page will begin in ernest around mid Sept.  Enjoy!

I hope you all had a wonderful July 4th holiday!  I sure did!   If you read my last update, you'll notice I used the term "not much has been happening lately".   Well, a lot has changed in the past couple of weeks.   We were notified by our property management agent, that the owner of this house we're renting is going to be sold.  So, we need to vacate the premises by Aug. 1st.  Boohooo!  We have been feverishly searching for a new place to live, cleaning up this current place for inspection, and preparing to pack all of our worldly belongings.  If you happen to be a frequent shopper of this homepage, updates will be very few and far between until mid August (earliest) or mid September (latest).   But, I will try to keep the "Weekend" page as updated as possible.

Well, not much has been happening lately.   My WoW characters are getting plenty of useage.  Last weekend (6/11), we hopped on the scooter for a ride over to Eastern Washington.  Our first big ride of the year.  Was cold and damp for the trip over.  The trip back was much warmer, but we did ride through a thunderstorm for about 1 1/2 hours.  Pounding rain!!  But, we were equipped for it, and as it was warm, the ride was not the least bit miserable.  Was a very nice ride.

This particular weekend happens to be Fathers Day weekend, which was supposed to be spent with my own father, but his plans changed for the weekend, so I didn't get a chance so see him on 'the day'.  Not too big a deal as I put up with his antics last weekend.  Heheh.

Anxiously await nice weather for some camping, motorcycling, grilling, and any other warm weather activity that I've had to put off for the past 10 months.  Peace.

I hope that everyone had as wonderful a Mother's Day as I had.   Drove many hours, many miles to visit my mom for the weekend.  It was wonderful...weather was very nice and had some excellent bar food.  LOL.  Much loves goes out to my mom, and my whole family.  They are the best.

The highlight of this week......selling my GMC pickup.  A local gentleman came out Saturday morning, looked, drove, then bought it.  Congrats to everyone involved.   Now, I must get some serious cleaning and tuning up done on the 2000 Chev now.

Other than that, the weather this week wasn't "all that", so I spent plenty of time levelling my World of Warcraft character to level 60....wOOt!!  But, don't be fooled.....level 60 sorta becomes the beginning of the game....again.  Levels 1-60 was just training for the big dance.

Well, there it is.  2000 Chev Silverado.  Decent truck.....the more I drive it, the more I like it.  Now, what is really chapping my ass, is that I've received a lot of interest in my older GMC pickup (email, phonecalls, etc.).....but not one single person has come out to see it.    I am confident that if someone actually comes out to see it/drive it, they will buy it.  It's a very nice rig for being nearly 10 years old.

Short of saying "WTF", I have to wonder what sort of breed this uber super weed is!   Well over a foot tall and over a foot in diameter, it makes the fairly large river rock look small.  If the weather turns out nice for the weekend, then "Roundup" it will be.....make that a double!

For Power's sake, here is a pic of my latest scoot.  LOL!  Just kidding.  Look for more scooter pics on my "Roadtrips" page.....once it's updated.

Not sure what's makin' this dude smile?   I'd bet money it's the box o' gaming love in his right mitt.  Either that, or he just consumed a tasty can of Monster Energy Drink.

Speaking of the tasty brown beverage in the enormous black can.....this here is what it's all about.  Damn good thing Google doesn't keep track of "fluid ounces" on these pages!!
