Quel cul t'as! Chapter 17 - Escaping the Heatwave Chapter 20 - Packing Up in Delhi | Every year hundred of foreigners tour India on Enfield Bullets, classic British bikes still manufactured in India. Most, however, are experienced riders. I'd only ridden mopeds around London when I decided in 1997 to travel around the Indian subcontinent on an Enfield 500cc for nearly a year. My journey took me through the mayhem of Delhi traffic, the deserts of Rajasthan, the tip of India, the remote tracks of Nepal and the eerie Himalayan barrenness of Ladakh. I had no idea what I was seeking but I did know I no longer wanted to be a fund manager in London. This book came out of a diary that I kept. I had hoped to have it published in the conventional manner but failed to find a publisher. It is over a decade since the trip and I now post it to the web in the hope that some readers will enjoy reading it. Those of you who know India and/or motorcycles very well may sometimes get frustrated with me. Perhaps I was a bit foolish, unprepared, and reckless, but for me it was a great adventure. This journey started as just a way of spicing up a boring life and fulfilling my wanderlust. Of course, it ended up being much more than that. I hope the reader will experience with me the thrills of mastering a gorgeous machine that has not changed since the 1950s, through a beautiful and sometimes baffling country.
