Hello Gardeners - - - Unbelievable - - - each day we are making progress by leaps and bounds - - - thank you Dave and Jeneece and Janice and Gail (I hope I'm not missing anyone who worked In the garden yesterday and today). New pictures are on the website showing the long narrow planting plot along the fence. It looks beautiful ! Wood chips were added along the east side and almost half of the west side is done. The rocks were piled along the northeast corner in the back and look great. Cardboard was moved and we have a terrific gathering area. More gardeners added the dark compost soil to their plots and the pile of compost is gone - - - well not really - - - I got a big load delivered late this afternoon. This should be sufficient to bulk up the plots already done and finish the remaining plots. I am sure we will have some left over. Don't skimp. Add a good 6 inches on top of your hay. Janice gets kudos for adding lava rock to the top of her concrete block. It looks so pretty. I am sure others may copy this idea. And thanks Janice for dropping off some pieces of decorative trellis. These will make a nice addition to the garden. Finally, Nick is going to provide a bundle of seeds of various veggies for all of us to plant. Thanks Nick. THIS WEEKEND - - - The FENCE project ! We may have a donated shed to move on Sunday. Keep your fingers crossed. Get the remaining compost and bins from Marian. Finish spreading wood chips on the west side and back of the garden. It will take another week or so to bury the manure. Ugh! Oh well. See you this weekend. Mary |
