Hello Friends,
We are so excited to have a food preservation class being offered by Vicki Shea and Scott Randles.  They are both Master Food Preservers.  This will be a hands on class.  We have room for 14 people in the class.  You need to RSVP to attend.  The Claremont Methodist Church is graciously letting us use their kitchen for the class.  If anyone else has a class they would like to offer this season, let me know!  Thank you Vicki and Scott!

Jam/Jelly and Pickling Class
July 2, 9:00 - 12:00     Claremont Methodist Church

Scott Randles and Vicki Shea have been certified as Master Food Preservers by the County Extension Service in San Bernardino County.  They both enjoy preserving the bounty of their gardens as well as sharing their knowledge to encourage the safest procedures for food preservation.  They will have everyone involved in making a fruit jam/jelly as well as pickling a vegetable.  This will be a hands-on class, so you only need to bring a willingness to help.  Neither of them have enough of any one fruit or vegetable coming out of our gardens to supply the class, so if anyone has extra fruit or vegetables, let us know and maybe we can use some of the extra stuff.  They are hoping to process enough food so that everyone gets to take a jar of product home with them.  If they do not have a source for the fruit/vegetables, then we will buy it from a local farmer’s market.  Class will go from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the kitchen of the Methodist Church on Foothill in Claremont.  They look forward to a fun morning with you all!
