Hello Gardeners - - - Only a few more days until we begin a brand new decade. We had a great year starting our Community Garden and Mother Earth is rewarding us with a bounty of fresh organic veggies and herbs. BUT - - - dear Gardeners - - - you have to pick 'em ! We grew 'em to eat 'um. Lettuces are growing in abundance. The more you pick, the more your garden will yield. And oh, so delicious. Please remember those in need and donate what you can't use. So, while you are reflecting on 2009 as you wait to ring in 2010, just think of hauling those concrete blocks for our borders, shoveling manure off the truck, using up that huge mulch pile, transporting a tin box shed that was teetering on top of a pick-up truck and that eventually became a work of art, planting flowers, securing our garden from our neighbor's pesky wabbits, installing fencing, re-building and re-finishing a "now-beautiful" redwood picnic table and benches, planting our seeds and plantlets, getting a cadillac irrigation system installed, and putting together our glorious Fall Harvest Celebration. And there were so many other highlights to our community garden. THANKS to each and every one of you for helping to make our Incredible Edible Community Garden a reality. Happy New Year !!! With warmth and love to all of you ..... Mary |
