We never had a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the garden, so I thought we might have a "First Planting" event for sometime between 9/20 and 9/27. If it is a weekday, the event can be in the early evening. If the weekend, we can do it in the afternoon. We can invite some notable dignitaries - - - YOU the gardeners - - - as well as supporters. I'd like your thoughts on this and also some volunteers to form the Event Planning group. You don't have to have a garden plot to be part of the planning group. Mary P.S. If gardeners want to plant their seeds before this event, we won't tell anyone you did that. It will just look like we're planting the first seeds at our event :-) We can ask some of our avid supporters to do the honors of putting the first seeds in a garden bed. |
