Hello Gardeners - - - We met with the irrigation guys this afternoon to discuss the best plan for our Garden. They agreed with us about using irrigation pipe and a hose bib at each garden plot. And here is the best information - - - we don't have to dig !!! - - - they will have several guys at the site early Friday morning to do minor trenching to bury the pipe, insert the T-connections, and provide us with brown pipe (not affected by UV rays) for risers to connect our hose bibs. We don't even have to move the wood chips and weed mat. They will handle that for us ! The only thing we have to buy is the hose bibs. WOW ! They are donating their labor and the pipe. Thanks Jeneece, again, for coming through with yet another contractor who is happy to help our Garden project. Once this project is completed on Friday, each gardener can decide how to water their own plot i.e. attach a hose and water by hand, install a drip system, or install a soaker hose (we have 5 of these in the shed compliments of Tony Sears). With individual hose bibs we will avoid scraping the hoses along the concrete block. Other Work for Friday - - - 1. Rabbit-proof our garden. 2. Spread wood chips (if they get delivered) Mary |
