7/31/11 About 8/24

Dear Gardeners - - -

I will be hosting about a dozen first year college students the 24th of August on a tour of our Community Garden at 3 pm and also providing a workshop for them while they are there. I was thinking about having them plant our "communal area" with some root veggies and lettuces, etc. and also show them how to save seeds.

I mention this so that we can save the communal area (which is just north of the shed) for their project. Also, do I have your permission to pick a tomato, a pepper, a small squash, a bean or two that may be growing in your gardens for this project. You will be the happy recipients of the seeds. But the veggie will probably get eaten by the students while at the garden. I plan to bring some veggies from my personal home garden for this project as well.

If there are any objections - no worries - but please let me know.

You are welcome to come to the garden to meet and talk with the students about your experiences. It will be on Wednesday August 24th at 3 p.m. I may start at 2:30 if my schedule permits. I'll let you know.
