Dear Gardeners - - - 

It is with sadness that I tell you our dear friend and gardener, Marie, lost her battle with cancer yesterday. Marie was one of the "founding gardeners" in our Community Garden family. Her plot continues to flourish because our gardener Janice watched over it, and now Marie's daughter Bernadette continues to care for it. 

Marie always had such a quirky sense of humor. She loved the garden. I remember the day she bought all of us hats that said "Compost Happens". Marie and Janice became instant and very close friends. Their friendship grew as their veggies grew :-) Marie also planted flowers in the back of the garden for all of us to enjoy.

Since we always protect the privacy of everyone's address, if you want to leave a card for Marie's family, please leave it on the shelf in the shed for Janice to drop off at Marie's house.
