Hello Gardeners - - -

Tomorrow, Saturday March 5th at 2 pm, several of us will be at the Community Garden doing clean-up. Hope to see you there !!! Bring your gloves, hand tools, rakes, shovels and hoes :-)

Let's WELCOME a new gardener couple to our Community Garden - - - Nancy and her friend Joe - - - who are taking over Erika's plot. Nancy has been a "friend" of the garden since the beginning. She followed our long and sometimes difficult journey until we finally achieved our wonderful slice of paradise on the Pacific Christian Center campus.

All of our plots are full !

Since we decided to abort our attempts at growing along the fence, and give that space to Carol for her container garden, I plan to use those blocks to add a second row to Nancy and Joe's plot.

Before the end of March, everyone will find a bag of Bumper Crop at your plot for use in your spring garden. For those of you new to our Garden, I provide each plot with a bag of Bumper Crop soil amendment for the spring and the fall plantings. This is a wonderful mix of nutrient to mix into the top 4 inches of your soil as you prepare your beds for spring planting. We can thank Evelyn for finding this wonderful bag of nutrients for us. It is sold at Mt. Fuji's Garden Center at a discount to members of our Community Garden.

You know what that means - - - soon we will be harvesting the last of our cool season crops and preparing our beds for spring planting. Remember to visit the no-dig website for suggestions about the best veggies and herbs to grow in the warm season. Here is the link to the Sowing Guide for Northern Hemisphere Temperate Climate.
