Hello Gardeners - - -

Our garden was looking a bit shabby with weeds. I spent only an hour and tackled practically all of the weeds inside our garden area except for the bermuda grass on the west side. It doesn't take long if we all do our part and spend a few minutes pulling weeds while we tend our plots. Remember, this is a COMMUNITY garden and it takes all of us to make it look nice.

As soon as I know when our fruit trees will be delivered, I'll schedule a work day for planting the trees, finishing the weeding, and cleaning up the gated area within our garden on the NW side. Does anyone think we ought to place our picnic table in that area or should we keep it in the back of the garden, but just a little closer to the plots so that we have room for our fruit trees?

Growing is slow this cool season because of the wide swings in our weather. Don't despair. It happens. I think many of us will still enjoy some nice cool season veggies, but I'm sure we are all looking forward to planting for the warm season to get that lushness back again.

There is one plot that looks like it wasn't planted for the cool season. Please remember that all gardeners need to plant at least for 2 seasons a year. I know that many of you plant all year long.
