10/9/09 Update

Hello Gardeners - - -

I heard that our entire area, personal gardens and communal gardens, were saturated this morning. Myself and other gardeners were there yesterday and everything appeared normal. So it happened between yesterday afternoon and this morning.

I contacted Ken at PCC with our problem. He assured me, as did two of our gardeners (Debrah and Dave) that the Spanish lady (and her son) understand not to water anything. Ken will ask the neighbors to keep a watchful eye.

I have a combo lock and plan to change the lock on the side fence to Chuck's yard. No one will have the combo except Ken.

We may need to fence the small area between the storage trailer and the fence by the shed on the west side of the garden. I don't know if someone squeezes through this area.

Short of these activities, we may need to develop a schedule (only for a week) where one of us is at the garden early a.m., late a.m., early afternoon, late afternoon, and early evening to see what is happening. Any other suggestions?
