IncogACTion2010 Access for All

 Introduction

2008 saw the completion of a major building project at the theatre, with the complete rebuilding of the upstairs dressing rooms and storage space. This redevelopment allowed us to apply for and gain a public entertainment licence.  It is now time to improve the rest of the theatre building in order to make it a more attractive and comfortable space for both members and audience.  We are calling this improvement programme - IncogACTion2010 Access for all.

Why are we redeveloping the theatre?
  • To create a new foyer which will be attractive and more comfortable to encourage more regular use of the theatre by audience and members alike.
  • To provide additional space and facilities.
  • To improve disabled facilities.
  • To make proper provision for youth work.
  • To provide extra rehearsal space
  • To create a bar area that can be used during the interval and at the end a performance.
  • To maximise use of the theatre.

When is the redevelopment going to start?

  • The planning application was put forward to Barnet Council at the end of August 2008 and planning permission was finally granted in December 2008.
  • We expect to start work on the redevelopment at the latest by the Summer of 2010.
  • Once work has started, it will take approximately six weeks to remove the existing buildings and put up the new exterior. Internal works will then take place.

How much will the redevelopment cost?
  • The cost of the redevelopment will be about £120,000
  • We need to raise a further £65,000
  • The additional money will come from:
    • Donations from members and friends.
    • Grant applications.
    • Incognito fund raising events.

 How can I help?

There are many fund-raising events planned for the next few years in addition to the regular plays at the theatre.  All these events are crucial if we are to achieve our target of £65,000.  We encourage all our friends and supporters to participate in these events and help us achieve our required financial target.
