The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District is planning on conducting a prescribed burn on Friday, October 14, 2011, depending on proper weather conditions and fuel moisture content. The seven acre prescribed burn will be in the upper Apollo sub-division area, off of state route 431. Smoke resulting from the prescribed burns will affect the surrounding area for approximately 24-36 hours. People that are smoke sensitive are advised to please stay inside and close their windows and doors as much as possible until the smoke dissipates.
