 Dear Friends, 
Welcome to the Shiloh Baptist Church website which celebrates the historic inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. Much of the world joins us as we celebrate this truly momentous event.
 
A few weeks ago as we gathered in our sanctuary to watch the election returns we held a special worship and prayer service.  ABC News covered our gathering and reporters from the British Broadcasting Company (BBC) and the Manchester Guardian took interviews.  We are delighted that in partnership with ABC News, Shiloh is one of the venues to watch the swearing in of our next president, as well as the parade and other exciting events    Read More...

What is the Shiloh "Keeping the Faith" Inaugural Ball?
The Shiloh Inaugural Ball is a celebration fitting this historic Inauguration of the 44th President. It is an “optional black tie” event on Inauguration Day, January 20, 2009. The ball celebrates the swearing in of the newly elected President and Vice President of the United States. Come celebrate Washington, DC's most profound tradition with your fellow, proud Americans.  The Ball will begin at six o'clock in the evening and continue until ten o'clock in the evening.

What does "Optional Black Tie" mean?
Guests generally tend to dress to impress.  Typically m
en wear either a tuxedo or a suit, while women generally wear either gowns or cocktail dresses.  Everyone always looks fantastic and all are invited to get a little “creative” and display their festive best honoring the occasion.

Who is invited to the Shiloh Inaugural Ball?
You and guests from across the U.S. including Members of Congress, members of the incoming Administration, United States Ambassadors, members of the media, and ticket purchasers are invited to attend the Shiloh Inaugural Ball.

When & where is the Shiloh Inaugural Ball?
On January 20, 2009 the Shiloh Inaugural Ball will take place at the historic Shiloh Family Life Center Heritage Hall in Washington DC .  It is located at 1510 9th Street, NW Washington DC (202) 232-4200.  The Shiloh Family Life Center has hosted several key celebrations. ceremonies and galas in the past.

How do I buy tickets to the Shiloh Inaugural Ball?
A number block of tickets to the Shiloh Inaugural Ball has been set aside for members and sponsors.  The remaining tickets will be released to the general public the week of December 24th.  Updates can be found on the “Buy Tickets” page of this web site.
 
Will the President or the Vice President be there?
As usual, the President , First Lady, Vice President and members of the cabinet will be invited to attend the Shiloh Inaugural Ball. You never know if they will attend, but we are ready!

What entertainment and food will be at the Shiloh "Keeping the Faith YES WE CAN" Inaugural Ball?
Tickets to the Shiloh Inaugural Ball are “All Inclusive”, meaning that all beverages and food is included.  Details about the menu can be found on the “Menu” page of this web site.  The music will be provided by both a band and a DJ and will be outstanding. Likewise details about the entertainment can be found on the “Entertainment” page of his web site. 

Do I need to bring anything with me?
The Shiloh Inaugural Ball features an all-inclusive package so all attendees are required to bring their tickets and celebratory spirit 
 
What is the layout of the Ball and seating arrangements?
The Shiloh Inaugural Ball is a reception-style gala encompassing the entire Family Life Center facility on multi-levels including the rooftop enclosed terrace. Therefore, seating is limited to maximize event space and comfortable crowd flow. No reserved seats are available for general ticket holders. 
What is the schedule of the presidential swearing-in ceremony?
The swearing-in ceremony and parade will take place on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.  The Presidential Inaugural Committee is responsible for planning the official events related to the Inauguration.  For more information, please visit their website,

How do I
get tickets to the swearing-in ceremony?
Tickets for the Inaugural swearing-in ceremony will be distributed in January 2009 by both Senators and Representatives of the 111th Congress.  Please contact your state's
