Mock vs Real

The Mock List Roundups are created and maintained by anyone interested in doing so and are gathered from many library/school/institutional lists. Each of those mock lists will have its own criteria and process for choosing books.  The Mock lists are not affiliated with the real awards, nor indicative of what activities or procedures the real award committees follow when selecting winners.   Many of the books on the mock lists may not be eligible for the real awards, as they do not meet the eligibility set by the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) or the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA)- those parts of the ALA that administer the Caldecott, Newbery and Printz awards.
