Band is open to any 7th or 8th grade student who plays an instrument. The band rehearses twice weekly-once per grade and once as a full band. Students are expected to participate in each rehearsal. Students must bring an instrument, music, and pencil to each rehearsal. Student work can ONLY be made up during a band rehearsal with permission from the grade level teacher and Miss Fab. 24 hour notice MUST given. Students may not ask that day to miss a rehearsal. Missed rehearsals are expected to be made up before or after school. Failure to make up missed time will result in a lowering of your grade. Students at the middle school also have weekly group lessons. Instrumental lessons are always the same day and time. No one should continually miss the same class because of the middle school's rotating schedule. If students have a test or quiz during their instrument lesson time, they are expected to take the quiz or test and return to lessons if time allows. Students should let Miss Fab know they are taking a quiz or test so that are not marked absent. I want all students to have a successful year in their academic classes and band.
