John Howard is currently in his fourth season with the National Auto Sport Association's Honda Challenge series. 2006 was the first year that the 1996-2000 Honda Civic was classed to compete in the Honda Challenge H4 class, a class dominated by CRX Si's and non-vtec Integras.
Realizing that racing was his main passion, and goal for the future, in late 2005 Howard began to turn his 1999 Honda Civic EX from streetcar into racecar. By March 2006, Howard's car was ready for its debut at California Speedway in Fontana,CA. From then on, it has been a constant evolution process, adding part after part in the search of speed.
In 2008 John went out to Nationals at Mid Ohio and earned 3rd place. Since then he's earned two wins and multiple podiums. The 2009 season is at its half-way point and with the help of Edik Stepanyan, John is looking to secure more wins and his first ever Regional Championship. While he currently does not own a tow vehicle, he begs, borrows, and steals his way to the track (well, maybe not steals). Still a mainly one man effort, John continues to work hard so that he can achieve strong finsihes. Best of luck to him, each and every month! |
