We are using this picture to show how the parts of an average human body relate to each other. Notice how the head is 1/7th of the size of the whole body. One could sketch lightly seven identically-sized heads, one on top of the other to begin the process of drawing the whole body in proportion. Notice carefully how each portion of the body relates to the height of the head. For example, the neck and shoulders where the chest begins is about the same height as the head. The trunk (from the chest to the waist) is also about the same height as the head, etc. |
