Barbara DeStefano

  •
  •  In her high school year book Barbara DeStefano wrote “I’m gonna play guitar ‘till my fingers melt.” With fingers still intact, she’s become a singer/songwriter/record producer and multi-instrumentalist/lead guitar player. Originally from Staten Island, NY (now residing at the Jersey Shore), she began playing the guitar at the ripe old age of six. Her songs have charted in places like Cashbox (top 100), Mp3.com (top 15) and were recommended singles in Billboard Magazine. Although she considers herself a songwriter first she’s also a performer who plays everything from folk to rock to old torch songs. Barbara comes from a long line of musicians. Her Grandfather was a banjo player in the NYC Speakeasys in the 1920's, performing with his band "The Buster Brown Syncopaters." She credits her family as a major support group and sometimes you can see various family members performing with her at various shows. Her passions are music, art, her animals including a 5 and ½ foot Iguana (named Kermit) and using music as a healing force. Performances have included Bars, Casinos Nightclubs. Musical influences are Emmylou Harris, Jethro Tull, Ella Fitzgerald, Patsy Cline and Linda Ronstadt. Barbara also specializes in entertainment for people with Allzheimers and performs at many Assisted Living Facilities and Nursing Homes in Ocean and Monmouth Counties.  You can hear Barbara's music by clicking on the Videos below.  You can also visit  Barbara's myspace page by clicking this link:   http://myspace.com/barbaradestefano to hear more of Barbara's music.  You can contact her at imaguitargirl@aol.com
