Dr. Selby Parker
Dr. Selby Parker is a native of Vicksburg, Mississippi and attended Carr Central High School. He received his doctorate in counseling and guidance from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1974. He was awarded a Master's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and completed his Bachelor of Science Degree from Mississippi State University. In 1960 he was appointed to serve as the first Youth Court Counselor in Hattiesburg, Mississippi under the Mississippi Youth Court Act. He has held the esteemed position of college counselor, college educator and counseling psychologist at various notable institutions. A U.S. Navy veteran, he formally retired from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs where he served as a Counseling Psychologist and Chief of Vocational Rehabilitation and Counseling.
