Location: DeSoto Arts Council in Hernando, Mississippi

Occasion: Waypoint 1 – Imagicopter’s First Event

By Herika R. Raymer

After a very successful Launch at Davis-Kidd Bookstore in Memphis, Imagicopter participants were ready for their first official event in Mississippi’s beautiful DeSoto County. MeadowHawk and Kerlak Publishing arrived early and set up their booths, while the authors arrived and toured the lovely DeSoto Arts Center located in Hernando. The displays were breathtaking, and more than one visitor left with a little memento. Gary Lawson, the Guest Artist, arrived and was immediately made to feel at home.

The event's Master of Ceremony was M. R. Williamson, who did a marvelous job in selecting the DeSoto Arts Center, securing thier perimission, and advertising the event locally. Though it started a little after 1pm, but once the event got going the authors got into a rhythm. Anne Barringer had brought some lovely bookmarks decorated with keys to promote her story in Dragon’s Composed, and Windsong Levitch was dressed as brightly as always. Each of the authors introduced themselves and gave a short summary of their inspiration and work. The floor was then opened to the attendees, and there were some wonderful questions to answer.

Though the event was small, it was invigorating to touch base with fellow authors and artists again and plan to see who would be attending the next event. In fact, there was even time to address some Imagicopter business. Possible attendees to events for 2010 were discussed, and Imagicopter elected Michael Greenway to be the official photographer for the site!

Congratulations Mr. Greenway!

Of course, thanks for all the fine photos you supplied for this event!

Once done, Imagicopter thanked the DeSoto Arts Center for their generosity in allowing the use of their facilities and the hopes it would become an annual stop. The event could not have happened without their assistance! Please, see the RADIO TOWER for video links to this event.
