Emily Mottesheard
Emily Mottesheard was blessed and cursed with an Old English last name
that has been butchered and misspelled to such epic (and hilarious)
proportions that, in the best interests of promoting her career, she
frequently goes by the moniker of “Mott”, which she uses in signing her
art and ordering pizza.
Though she’s made a living for the past ten
years as a freelance artist, she holds equal passion for music, and
enjoys playing clarinet, sax, or piano in various local musical
productions and jazz bands. Her most recent projects have included
designing the Keldara Mountain Tiger logo for John Ringo’s Palladin of
Shadows series, and volunteering as a creative consultant for Imagyro
Magazine. She also occasionally updates her webcomic “Cookies and Cream”
which is based on the antics of her most infamous pet rabbit named
Cookie, and may eventually start updating on a more regular schedule
once time allows.
She paints, designs websites, logos, has a hobby in
miniatures painting, draws comics, and loves just about all types of art
styles from renaissance to impressionism to contemporary fantasy and
science fiction. Because of this some give her the nickname “Renaissance
Gal”, but she mostly thinks of herself as simply unable to make up her
mind.
She currently lives in her birthplace of West Virginia, and
continually finds inspiration for her creative projects in the beautiful
forests and mountains that lie just footsteps away from city limits.
Though she falls short of achieving the rank of “Crazy Cat Lady Artist”,
she does have six pet rabbits, which has to be worth something.
