Reminder about the guidlines:
Deadline was Tuesday, October 27th at midnight
Requirements:
- under 1000 words
- related to the horror genre
- the story must be original. The author must attend or work for IIT, Shimer, or VanderCook.
The stories will be judged by the Liit editors according to a number of
factors including but not limited to: how frightening the story is,
originality, relevance to Halloween themes, creativity, and the overall
quality. The winning story will be published in the Fall 09 literary
magazine, and the author of the winning story will also be endowed with
Halloween treats.
Please send your submissions to liit@iit.edu with "Halloween Short
Story Contest Submission" written on the subject line with your short
story attached to the email. The submission deadline is Tuesday,
October 27th; .doc and .txt are the preferred formats for submissions.
Some story idea suggestions just to get the thoughts flowing are:
Murder, A Character Analysis of Zombies, The Truth behind the Man on
the Bench Park, Ghosts of the Galvin Library, The Secrets of the IIT
Steam Tunnels, and Why I No Longer Eat at the Commons.
