  • Tomatoes are actually a fruit, it took a ruling by the Supreme Court in 1893 to make the tomato a vegetable
  • Veggies which contain Vitamin A keeps eyes and skin healthy and helps to protect against infections.

Welcome to "I Like Veggies" website. We know it is a trying experience getting your kids to eat veggies. We are going to give you an understanding of veggies and some great tips to get your kids to like and eat veggies. Look around and enjoy the "I Like Veggies" website. 

 

What foods are in the veggie group?

Any vegetable or 100% vegetable juice counts as a member of the vegetable group. Vegetables may be raw or cooked; fresh, frozen, canned, or dried/dehydrated; and may be whole, cut-up, or mashed.
 
What are the health benifits of veggies?
 
Eating vegetables as part of a regular healthy diet they may reduce the risk of stroke and possibly other cardiovascular disease. They may also reduce the the risk of type two diabetes, certain cancers such as stomach, mouth and colon cancer.
 
What kind of nutrients are found in veggies?
 
Veggies are an important source of nutrients. Some nutrients that are found in veggies are potassium, dietary fiber, folic acid, vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E.
 
 
 

 
 
 

Tips on how to get your kids to eat and  like veggies:

  • Let your kids help you in preparing the vegetables for snack or dinner.
  • Make your veggies tasty. Season your veggies with different tasty seasonings like garlic and pepper. No one likes plain veggies.
  • Microwave your veggies until they become soft,  add them to a food processor and make them like mush. Add them to sauces, hamburgers, meatloafs.
