Ilfracombe
Arts College have no nets & posts, but in a recent survey
it was revealed that approximately 200 pupils wanted after school
tennis. Working with the school to re-establish school tennis may help
to drive the nets & posts project by demonstrating the demand. Term Dates
At the start of the 2011 spring season - we are looking at
adding Thursday after school for girls of college age (+year six in
final term). We are also looking at adding a Wednesday after school for smaller junior schools
pupils. We are also looking at supporting a Woolacombe Junior School
year 4 after school group based at Woolacombe School in addition to the
year 5/6 after school coaching group on Thursdays from 4pm to 5pm At the start of the 2010 autumn season - we started an indoor mini tennis group at Ilfracombe Arts College & added an indoor mini tennis group at Braunton Community College from January 2011 At the start of the spring 2009 season - in conjunction with local schools, we started up a number of after-school clubs: MONDAY - Ilfracombe C of E Junior After School Tennis - open to Ilfracombe C of E junior school pupils aged 10 & under FRIDAY - College After School Tennis - open to local college age students & ALL yellow ball club juniors aged 11 & over. | 2010/2011 Season Schools Link Tennis Ilfracombe Learning Community: Woolacombe Junior School pupils attended an 8 week after school tennis programme on Thursdays from late April 2010 & Ilfracombe Junior School pupils commenced a similar programme on Tuesdays from early May 2010. Both programmes were run by Roz Cooke. Braunton Learning Community: Three Braunton primary schools ran tennis programmes during spring/summer 2010.
