LTA Mini Tennis Relaunch
Along with the products offered above we are launching a new programme for our mini tennis juniors aged 10 & under that includes an awards scheme for coaching progress & new competition opportunities at the club, at school & around the county. We are planning to have after school sessions every weekday from January, many of which will be indoors & we will be visiting schools to promote our programmes & run some taster sessions & competitions. We are currently running a colouring in competition for MIni Juniors & you can visit the LTA Mini Tennis website to find the colouring in sheets. Drop the finished sheets at the clubhouse, although there is no rush as we will be awarding prizes some time in late January. More information will be forthcoming in the new year & in the meantime visit the clubhouse & pick up a leaflet explaining some elements of the new programme.

CLUBMARK PRESENTATION EVENING & CLUB NIGHT
Monday 19th December WE NEED YOU! to come along & help to demonstrate a show of strength for a presentation of our Clubmark accreditation. Club Night usually takes place from 6pm, but the floodlights will be on at 4pm & the clubhouse will be open at 12 midday if you can't make it in the evening, but want to come along & either play some tennis &/or find out about what is planned for 2012 or have a look at what is on offer in the club shop! The LTA Regional Development Manager & the press will be along around 6pm, so this is the time to come along if you can but don't forget to bring your tennis racket!  

Aegon Team Tennis
This competition involves teams of four players (mixed at 8U, 9U & 10U, boys or girls at 12U, 14U, 16U & 18U) competing in singles & doubles against teams from around Devon. Matches take place from April to June on Saturdays & Sundays & each team will have a maximum of 5 fixtures, likely 2/3 home & 2/3 away. We need parents & juniors to step up & register an interest, but we also need team managers, mainly to help take care of the arrangements for the away matches (of which there will only be 2 or 3!). FREE Devon & Cornwall Girls Tennis Roadshow
WEDNESDAY 28^TH DECEMBER, EXETER TENNIS CENTRE, 11am–3pm - Devon & Cornwall LTA supported by Europe's largest independent regional airline
, Flybe, are hosting the BIGGEST tennis event ever for GIRLS ONLY. Last month D&C LTA launched the new Flybe Tennis Girls initiative to not only encourage those girls already playing but to also introduce more girls within Devon & Cornwall to the amazing game of tennis. As part of this campaign D&C LTA are holding the first ever Roadshow across the region to run just for girls and are inviting all girls whether they've never picked up a tennis racket, hit a few balls or play regularly to come along & join in the fun! The Roadshow will be led by some of the top female coaches across the two counties, including Lucie Ahl (former GB no.1). The day will consist of loads of activities; the new keep fit craze of cardio tennis, touch tennis (mini tennis for all ages), exhibition matches, fun drills with Lucie & much, much more. So come along and bring a friend, bring your sister, bring your mum!  This is just for you & it’s FREE! Junior & Mini Junior Club Championships 2011
On the 5th November 2011 we held the annual junior club championships for U16, U14 & U12 boys. Oscar Brown won the U16 event with Sean Henderson as the runner-up; Will Berry won the U14 event with Brodie Montague as the runner-up; Toby Reed won the U12 event with David Podmore as the runner-up. Congratulations to all winners & we hope to hold girls events & a boys U18 event early in 2012. On 15th October we held the mini junior event. Congratulations to Mini Red winner: Adam Jenner & runner-up Sonny Hutchings; Mini Orange winner: Freya Barnes & runner-up Patrick Howard; Boys Mini Green winner: Euan Berry & runner-up Jacob Gooch; Girls Mini Green Winner: Lucy Reed. Many more events are planned for 2012 including more ratings & rankings events with club rankings races & a year end presentation event.



Other Club News
Our Xmas tournament on Saturday 10th December attracted 30 players & a bunch of spectators & was a great social & tennis event. The mens joint winners were Jake Foster Ramsden & Ed Liddon with Barry Challens as runner-up. Our ladies winner was Linda Mollart with Amber Lowe as runner-up. Our Junior winner was Thomas Painter with Kieren Boulton as runner-up. ### Club member Hillary Adams has recently taken up the role of Secretary for the North Devon LTA. We wish Hillary every success in this new role & look forward to working together to put North Devon Tennis on the map! 
And Finally...
It's been another great year for the tennis club, but there is still much to do for 2012 & beyond. Our development plans will need your support & input, so please consider attending events & activities that we will be running throughout 2012. We are also keen to here from you about what you would like from the tennis club to support your ongoing membership. Please consider contacting me direct, or coming along to our AGM that will be held sometime in late February or early March. This invite extends to parents/guardians of junior members.
