To encourage as many of you to sign up early to Badminton England (BE) & Devon County Badminton Association (DCBA), there will be no membership fee
for the club. Membership of the club will effectively occur by completing
membership to BE & DCBA. The BE fees are £9.30 for a senior member & £4.65 for a junior member. The DCBA fees are £4.50 senior & £2.25 junior. BE also offers insurance for 'personal accident' (PA), the fees for which are £1.80 senior & £0.90 junior. The total costs would therefore be: Senior Club Member (SCM): £15.60 Junior Club Member (JCM): £7.80 Those not signed up to BE & DCBA will be treated as guests of the club. Currently there is no differentiated charge for attending sessions, but this may be something that will occur after a certain date, although this will only likely be 50p per session extra whilst you remain a guest & could be recoverable if you subsequently join BE as a member of the Ilfracombe Badminton Club. Junior Club: There is a 'club' affiliation fee of £46.20 payable to BE for the 'junior' club. However, if all junior members of the club join BE, then no 'club' affiliation fee is due. It is envisaged that the process for juniors would be to attend as 'guests' & that once they had attended a specific number of sessions (possibly 6) they would be signed up to BE & DCBA & that this would be subsidised by the club. Membership Offer: For every session attended until a member/non-member differentiated charge is instigated, you will be able to claim a 50p reduction on your membership fees to BE, DCBA & for PA. For anyone wanting to pay these fees at a rate of 50p per ongoing week, this option may be available, although I would encourage only those on a very tight budget to take up this option as club funds will not cover everybody.
