Hello and welcome to my webpage. 

SHORT BIO: I am currently employed as an Economic Analyst  at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre in Seville were I am part of the Regional Economic Modelling Team within the Innovation Policies and Economic Impact Unit of the Growth & Innovation Directorate (JRC.B7). Prior to my appointment in the JRC, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Economics Division at the Economic and Social Research Institute, Dublin. 

I hold a PhD in (Computational) Economics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

RESEARCH: In the JRC my research is mainly focused on Regional and Spatial Economics and covers a range of topics including, among others, the econometric assessment of the effects of the EU's Structural Funds on economic performance and the estimation of regional level production functions.  I am also working on some data aspects of the Territorial Economic Data Viewer maintained by the Territorial Data Analysis and Modelling team of the JRC.

My other research interests lie in Applied Macroeconomics. In particular, I am working on issues related to:

The overarching theme of these diverse topics is the application of the so-called `second generation'  panel time series techniques.
