By Azam Paki 24, 2009 In words 'Fence' means a free standing structure to separate the identities and liberties of two independent pieces of land. The word is also used as boundary between to pieces of lands. Which means absence of fence or boundary can result in many problems because it violate independence and identities of the two lands, so we can infer that fence is an essential item for maintaining peace without disturbing two independent identities. Many issues of the world has been solved by building fences between when no other solution was working for example fencing the North and south Korea, After installing fencing on LOC between Pakistan and India there has been fall in Indian accusation for cross boarder infiltration by Pakistan side. at least was true by the time i was writing this article. The building of fence was found the final solution by Israel to establishing peace in middle east and there are numerous examples which can be found. Durand line is an example where the absence of a "Fence OR Boundary" has resulted in serious problems between two countries and given the enemies of peace a save heaven where they can play safely. What i am going to suggest is not a new thing earlier the same was suggested by former President and COS of Pakistan Gen (R) Pervaze Mushrraf. The suggestion is to resolve the important issues of Durand Line and building of a fence along the border. Pakistan should pursue its case of resolving the issues of Durand Line in front of "Friends of Pakistan". Because it seams the only solution working and not been tries yet for establishing peace in the area. This will also help fighting against the enemies of the peace who had taken shulter in the un-fenced (un bounded) areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan. |
