The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) is an exclusive professional body of Chemical Engineers / Technologists and a forum for Chemical Engineering professionals from academia, industry and R&D institutions to meet and exchange ideas. It is thus the apex professional society of Chemical Engineers in India.
The main objectives of IIChE are :-

To serve as an authoritative body on all matters pertaining to teaching and profession of Chemical Engineering; &

To provide advancement of Chemical and allied industries and related R&D
There are 34 regional centers of the institute in India, each of which is administered by an elected executive committee with office-bearers: Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, etc.
The Pune Regional Center is one of the very active regional centers of IIChE. It has nearly 400 members including student members. The center has had several distinguished members from government, academia & industry, who have held important positions in the executive committee, & who were responsible for making the center active and dynamic by their leadership and guidance.
The center organizes various programs including seminars, workshops and technical lectures on a regular basis, with a focus on critical issues facing the chemical industry, such as innovation and application of technologies, energy and resources utilization, environmental pollution, safety, etc. Of equal interest are topics from related fields such as management, finance, marketing, etc.
