Welcome to Mrs. Cozart's Growing Garden!

Let no one think that real gardening is a bucolic and meditative occupation.  It is an insatiable passion, like everything else to which a man gives his heart.  ~Karel Čapek, The Gardener's Year, translated by M. and R. Weatherall, 1931

I am so excited to be your child's First Grade teacher this year!

1st Graders are expected  to work cooperatively with others, to complete tasks in a timely manner, and to understand and follow school rules. Most of all, it is the time for your child to continue to experience the love and joy of learning that will last a life-time.

First Grade: What Will They Learn?

I am confident that we will accomplish all of these goals within the caring school environment.

I believe that all children are capable of learning and being successful in school.  Also, I strongly believe that a good parent/teacher relationship is important to enhance your child's success at school.  Throughout the school year, I will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, weekly newsletters, quarterly report cards, and parent/teacher conferences.  If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me at
marsha.cozart@imagineschools.com or call me at  (678) 384-8920 ext.8122

Now, a little bit about me!  I enjoy teaching, I'm serious about education, and I want all parents to become my partners in education.

This is my 7th year teaching.  I've taught grades K-2.

I have an Associates of Arts in Teacher education from Baltimore City Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Coppin State University in Maryland, and I'm currently pursuing a Master's from the University of West Georgia.

I'm certified in Maryland and Georgia to teach grades Pre-K-8th grade.

My hobbies include reading, Graphic Design, listening to music and traveling.

I am looking forward to an exciting year with you and your child!
