Dear parent,

            This is just to help you get a feel of what is expected from your child in Mrs. Nkosi’s class.

Morning Procedure

1.      Student greet the teacher when they come in.

2.      They unzip their book bags.

3.      They take out their homework file folders and agendas

4.      They put their folder in the red basket

5.      They go to their seats

 

For Lining Up

They chant:

I’m giving myself a great big hug

I’m standing straight and tall

I’m looking right ahead

I’m heading for the hall

 

Behavior

Students are encouraged to have self discipline.  I raise my hand and say, “Give me five”. 

1.      Hands still!

2.      Feet quiet!

3.      Lips closed!

4.      Eyes watching!

5.      Ears listening!

Additionally a chart appears on the wall, this is our Great Behavior Chart.  It has green, yellow, and red cards. They start on a green card.  If a child is misbehaving they are asked to change their card from green to yellow.  Yellow means caution.  If the child is misbehaving again, they are asked to go from a yellow card to a red card.  A red card means a letter will be going home to the parents.
