"And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon.  They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines,
where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes.  And they'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters.
The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball.
America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers.  It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again.
But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray.
It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again.
Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come."

IMPROVED FIELD CONDITIONS
The Indian Hill Recreation Commission has funded improvements both in the "B" field at Stephan Field and at the "A" field at Camp Dennison. These improvements, completed November 10,11,12 of 2010,  include:
a) removing 7 truckloads of grass and dirt fromthe Stephan Field "B" diamond to correct a safety problem which occurred when ground balls were hit through the infield, regrading the field to a level and improved status, installing a new pitching mound, installing a new home plate, pitching rubber, and bases, and the installation of proturf to the top of the field to help with future playability under rainy conditions. The field will no longer be a "grass" infield which will help with maintenance and damp conditions. The IH Service department has been trained to work in the proturf to keep the field level from home plate through the beginning of the outfield.
b) removing some sod to improve base paths and eliminate a "lip" that was dangerous to infielders on Camp Dennison's "A" field.  A new mound was also built. Proturf was added and low lying areas were leveled to provide for improved drainage and playability.
