Second Day: The International Grand Prix Vila de Blanes 2012

• The Europe class starts with three races, leader is Tobias Hemdorff
• Martí Llena/ Oriol Mahiques keep the leadership with authority in 29er
• Guillaume Piroleille / ValentinSipan reaffirmed the first position ahead of her friends Jennifer Poret / Laise Chevet in 420 class.


Blanes, January 3, 2012 - A complete session on the second racing day at the International Grand Prix Vila Blanes, which was also the starting day for the 2012 Spanish Cup of the Europe class. They ran all the scheduled races in each class, three for Europe and 420 and four for 29r class.

At 8:00 am, more than one hundred boats were on the water, and at nine o'clock they proceeded with the warning signal for all three fleets in order to catch the typical offshore local NNW wind, which reached today a 14 Knots, decreasing below the 8 knots at the end of the day.

Europe Class begins: A complete first day
The International Grand Prix de Blanes is also the Spanish Cup of the
Europe class and today this regatta started with three races. After the first day, the trophy is wide open, where the Danish Tobias Hemdorff is leading the classification, signing today one fourth, one first and a seventh position in the last race, which places himself as a favorite to be in the top of the scoring and fighting for the podium of the International Grand Prix Vila de Blanes. Veith Nicklas from Ibiza, with two second finishing positions and one tenth in the last race, is second in the general scoring. More regular was Albert Codinachs, who managed with the shifty wind scoring 5-9-8, 22 points. Victor Morato is in fourth place with 30 points, who finish in first place in the last race held, and complete the day with 15 and 14 in the previous two.
Pau Schilt, who won the first race, has been placed in tenth position at the end of the day, after finishing 24 and 22 in the last two races.

Martí Llena / Oriol Mahiques imposed in 29er

The team Marti Llena / Oriol Mahiques (CN Garraf) stated today its leadership in the International Grand Prix Vila de Blanes.
They have been untouchables; they won the four races of today. With seven races sailed and after discarding the worse position, they are scoring 6 points. They put back to its immediate rivals, the Swiss team Victor Homes / Jeremy Bachelin, that today have only been able to make partials 4-2 -, remaining after discarding with 13 points.

The Italians Raggio Ontavia / Davide Tonelli, remain in third place with 18 points. It seems that the podium of this class will remain in the hands of these three teams. Behind them is the Swedish team composed by James Olsson / Gustav Kolvi, scoring 25 points, struggling with the Catalans Nil Mas / Toti Llena, who are fifth with 27 points.

French domination continues at 420
French leadership in 420 class continues in the International Grand Prix Vila Blanes. Today the team formed by Guillaume Pirolielle / Valentin Sapin, have not let anyone win any of the three races and have an indisputable leading position, ahead of his compatriots Jennifer Poret / Laise Chever, last year winners at the International Grand Prix Vila de Blanes . Highlighting the important improvement of this team who were yesterday in fourth place with 13 points and, after discarding they have risen to good positions today, climbing to the second place, scoring 14 points.
In third position are the sailors Marie Soler / Thibaut Soler, with 19 points, tied with Thomas Ponthieu / Valentino Di Salvo, who have gone one position down. Julien Rossi / Bruno Mourniac, are in fifth place, after falling two places. And Fran Bru / Sigfrig Rovira maintain their seventh place.
