The IFIP WP5.7 SIG on Experimental Interactive Learning in Industrial Management

The SIG is a dynamic network of researchers, teachers and practitioners interested in the advancement of games and simulations for experimental interactive learning in industrial management. It organizes annual intensive workshops on the design and research of new methods for learning, and publishes the results in proceedings and articles. Until 2009, it has organized 13 international workshops in 11 different universities.

The IFIP WG 5.7 SIG 7.1.1 was founded by Professor Jens Ove Riis in 1994 with the name Special Interest Group on Simulation Games in Industrial Management.
Since 2002 the SIG has been called Special Interest Group on Experimental Interactive Learning in Industrial Management.

The SIG has organized 14 international workshops in 11 different universities

13th International Workshop of the IFIP WG 5.7 SIG (2009-ETHZ)
Multidisciplinary Research on Learning and Cooperation in Value Added Networks

Increasing complexity in products, stronger competition and a fast changing business environment is forcing organisations to co-operate in networks to ensure their competitiveness.

Business success depends on factors as the ability of organisations to learn how to operate and cooperate in the dynamic, networked environment to share risks and to benefit from synergies.

Educational games, simulations and other experiential learning methods offer new ways for learning through simulated experience. The 13th international workshop on Experimental Interactive Learning in Industrial Management has been a multidisciplinary investigation of these methods.
