Awards Luncheon

Reported by John Baker

On January 17th the ENCS held its annual awards luncheon at Gregory's Restaurant.

One reason to volunteer for a leadership role in the ENCS is all the great free food you get!

No. The real reason to volunteer for a leadership role in the section is to be able to hang out with people like Lee, John, Laura, and Jim at the awards luncheon.

In one of his last acts as section chair, Tom Jepsen presented awards to members of the section who had significant contributions in 2008. These awards were:

Roger Lawrence "in recognition of his leadership in presenting new and innovative energy solutions as chair of the Power and Energy Society"

Jim Ray for "distinguished service to the section as Treasurer, Newsletter Editor, and Membership Development Chair"

Grayson Randall "for his outstanding contributions to autonomous vehicle design."

Lee Haas received a gift of a laser pointer for his efforts in keeping our EXCOM meetings focused (ha ha... get it?) on the agenda.

Please join me in congratulating these award recipients
