Volunteer applications take on many different forms and formats.  Almost ALL such applications ask for far more information that is really needed.  Beware of applications that ask for excessive personal information.  Do not write your Social Security number on an application form.  Does the organization have a privacy policy for filing and use of your information?  Ask.
