Idaho Kigers

HOME -- IDAHO KIGERS

Idaho Kigers is a small farm that started breeding Kiger Mustangs and Kiger Mustang crosses in 2004.   We acquired our 1999 Foundation Kiger Stallion in November of 2000.   We made the choice to geld Shadow in the fall of 2008 and integrate him into our herd.  He is a great riding horse and loves to go out on the trail.   We are no longer raising horses and are downsizing our herd to just those that we want to keep for our pleasure. The horses shown here are the horses that we will be keeping and are NOT FOR SALE.

Idaho's Running Shadow, (Shad) Pictured above is a 1999 Foundation Kiger Stallion captured as a weanling. He has sired 7 foals.  But we have decided that we will be gelding Shadow this fall.  We are out of the horse raising business!   Shad is an excellent trail horse and we are looking forward to being able to ride him without any worries about liability!!

Lady Gwynn (Gwynn..sometimes also known as "Barbie") pictured below is an 8 year old 3/4 Ranch bred Kiger Mare;   She is an awesome trail horse!   I love riding her.

This is Classic Shadow, (Classy)  pictured below.   Classy is a 3 year old ranchbred half Kiger mare and she is full Mustang, with her  sire being Idaho's Running Shadow from the Kiger HMA and her dam being from Sheepshead HMA , both in Oregon. Classy is turning out to be a super trail horse.  She was at the trainers from the middle of July to the middle of August and she did awesome!   Her trainer said that Classy is going to be one of those horses that if you want to just grab a horse and go, she will be the one.   She is so solid for a 3 year old.  And she looks so much like her sire!!!  I just love her!

Kaniksu Shadow (Nik) a 2 year old ranchbred 7/8's Kiger gelding, his sire is Shadow and his dam is Gwynn.  Here are a couple of pictures of Nik...one as a little guy and one earlier this summer.  He still looks gangely...but hopefully by the time that next spring rolls around and he's 3, he'll be making the trip to the trainer!!

This is Oregon Honey pictured below.   We adopted her in 1998 as a 2 year old from Sheepshead HMA in Oregon.  She has excellent bi-coloring and has a very Spanish look to her.  She's a great mare and super brood mare.   She has milk for her foals like a Holstein cow!!!
