Conference Description The International Conference on Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (ICEES) will serve as an international forum at which specialists, government officials and NGO representatives in earthquake engineering and relevant fields would exchange the latest research results and technologies. The Conference strives to promote innovation, practice and safety in reducing the impact of earthquakes on our society and natural environment. The Kashmir Earthquake on Oct 08, 2005, had brought unprecedented destruction to Kashmir and neighboring regions. In order to prevent any possible secondary hazards derived from the earthquake as well as to propose structural retrofitting and rebuilding methods, National University of Sciences & Technology, NUST invited representatives from the world including Japan, USA, Turkey and China to visit the NUST. After an extensive investigation into affected regions by the Pakistani and Foreign experts, the Post-Earthquake Repair and Rebuilding Techniques Conference on Pakistan Earthquake and near regions will be held in Islamabad, Pakistan organized jointly by the Higher Education Commission and Department of Earthquake Engineering. The papers will be published in NUST Journal of Engineering Sciences. This conference aims to summarize and further discuss the restoration and rebuilding of infrastructures into the earthquake prone zone in order to better serve the affected regions.

Conference Venue/ Hotel Accommodation The conference will be held at the School of Civil and Environment (SCEE) Auditorium, NUST, H-12 sector of capital city of Islamabad, Pakistan. Five-star hotel e.g. Islamabad Marriot Hotel, Islamabad Serena Hotel and PC Hotel, Rawalpindi are located near the conference Venue about 20 minutes drive where the exotic surroundings are magically harmonized with the breath-taking scenery of the beautiful mountain view. Transportation to the Conference Venue Those who are coming from America, Europe, and other countries may come to Islamabad International Airport (ISB), which is one of the largest Hub Airport. The detailed information for transportation and hotel accommodation to Islamabad will be announced on the conference website.
Registration Requests for participation on the prescribed form or E-mail should reach the Secretariat eight week prior to commencement of the conference. The authors of selected papers will be informed by email. The final selection, however, is subject to receipt of the registration fee. Registration Fee includes the conference fee, material costs, souvenirs, meals and Site Visits. Discounted fee of Rs. 1000/= is available for full-time students who can provide a current student ID.
