About the international conference

The drilling technology is an important part of oil, gas, minerals and ore exploration. The engineering activities that drive oil, gas, minerals and ore exploration require constant update as and when new technologies get matured and are made available to the industry.

This international conference will report on the latest technologies related to the important topics that are relevant for the industry, practicing engineers and academicians and will bring latest research results and state-of-art technologies to the focus of the participants. The primary objective of this conference is to share and disseminate the information and design base being built by the researchers in the area of drilling technology and make available to desired knowledge to the participants to understand the advanced and emerging drilling technologies. This international conference is being planned with a national workshop on “manpower development in petroleum engineering”.

ICDT - 2010

About the institution
IIT Madras has established itself as a premier centre for teaching, research and industrial consultancy in the country. The campus is situated in lush green environment and the weather in the month of November is expected to be pleasant with temperatures around 30 0C (max) and 22 0C (min). On campus guest house and hostel accommodations will be provided for the participants.

Call for papers

ICDT-2010 invites all the researchers to submit original and unpublished work. Please submit ‘extended abstract’ (2-3 pages) in IEEE format, A4 size in Times New Roman Script of 12-pt font). All the received abstracts will be received and judged on merits including correctness, originality, technical strength and quality of presentation. The accepted abstracts will be invited for the full-length paper submission (8-10 pages).

The accepted full-length papers will be published in the conference proceedings. For each accepted paper at least one of the authors has to register for the conference. The authors are requested to send the papers in soft copy as an e-mail attachment to icdt.iitmad@gmail.com.

Registration

The registration fees are:

1. For authors – 20, 000 INR.

2. For students - 5, 000 INR.

3. For non-author participants – 25, 000 INR.

5. For international authors: 750 USD.

To register, please complete the accompanying tear off portion of this brochure and post it to any of the coordinators alternatively send an e-mail to any of the coordinator.

Best paper awards

The three best papers will be awarded in ICDT-2010. The decision will be taken by an expert committee and its decision will be final in this regard.

Journal Recommendation

Steps are being taken up to publish good quality papers of ICDT-2010 in an international/national journal. On this a separate announcement will be made on conference days.
