Objectives

The conference objectives are to further research in all issues concerning languages, and create collaborations among leading research universities and organizations. The ICAL is a forum for the exchange of ideas among linguists, applied linguists, sociolinguists, writers, scholars, and educators of languages.


Focus

To meet the theme of the conference, we hope that the conference papers will focus on the diverse facet of language, which includes the verbal-sign and non-verbal sign systems. Proposals addressing this or the following themes are welcome.

  • Sociolinguistics
  • Psycholinguistics
  • Computational linguistics
  • Contrastive linguistics
  • Multilingualism and multiculturalism
  • Lexicography and lexicology
  • First/second language acquisition
  • Language teaching and learning
  • Computer-assisted language learning
  • Language testing and evaluation
  • Rhetoric and stylistics
  • Discourse analysis
  • Translation, interpretation, and mediation
  • Language for specific purposes (ESP, EAP, and so on)
