The game is set on Mars in the year 3000. Every day you get 250 moves and you move around the map attacking people, finding money and upgrading your stats. The best part of this game is that if you earn enough in game money (mars dollars) you can cash it in for real money and as you are moving around the map you can find prizes like iPods and gift cards. How is this possible? You are able to buy moves on top of the 250 daily moves and there are some minor ads on the site (Google AdSense mostly). Buying moves will give you an advantage over everyone else.

As you move around the map you will encounter different types of spaces (displayed both on the map and in your radar):

• C: Crater – Plain space, nothing to see here.
• D: Dunes – Plain space, nothing to see here.
• H: Homestead – Someone’s base, Scout or Attack available.
• O: Outpost – Buy upgrades at the Outpost.
• P: Plains – Plain space, nothing to see here.
• R: Ruins – Money and prizes.
• S: Settlement – Settlement, Scout or Attack available if occupied.
• V: Volcano – Money and prizes.

When you start, the radar will show you what space you are on (not very helpful) so you will want to get the first upgrade as soon as possible (available for purchase at the Outpost for 2500 Mars dollars). The first upgrade allows you to see not only the space you are on but what spaces can be found in the four directions you can move. It will double or even triple your daily income (even more if you buy moves).

To earn money, especially when you first start, you need to find as many Volcanoes and Ruins as possible. Each time you hit one of these spaces you could earn anywhere from one Mars dollar to 100 Mars dollars and this will help you buy upgrades. At the outpost you can buy 5 upgrades:

• Weapons – Balance for Defense.
• Defense – Balance for Weapons.
• Intelligence – Balance for Security.
• Security – Balance for Intelligence.
• Radar – Lets you see what spaces are what around you.

The attacking system works like this; if you find someones base you can either scout them or attack them. If you choose to scout the base and your Intelligence is higher then their Security then it will tell you what their Defense is. If your Intelligence is lower then their Security then you will not find out any information and you will loose a small amount of money. If your stats match then the outcome is random. Attacking work in a similar way, if your Weapons is higher then their Defense then you win money, if not you loose money and a tie is random. If you find someones settlement and you attack you loose money if you loose and you gain control of the settlement if you win.

The amount of money is determined two ways. There is a random amount given to you, this can range anywhere from a few mars dollars to 100 Mars dollars. Beyond the randomness, the more settlements you occupy then you have a better chance of getting 100 Mars dollars either by successfully attacking or by successfully defending.

Then there are the alliances. The alliance system gives you access to all of your alliance members settlements when attacking. All of the alliances have to go threw an approval process in order to join so in order to join a good alliance you have to have good stats.
