Where is the story set?

Lissie lives in Niamong, a small country town a considerable distance from Melbourne.  Like all girls, she's interested in boys.  Her misfortune is that, like all girls, she's ahead of the boys, so has to be more like a boy than is good for a girl.  No doubt this changed dramatically when she grew up!

Like its companion volume Scratcher, Lissie Pendle is episodical.  It's not a novel, but tells us about a series of funny events, from a girl's perspective.

Who is the story for?

Whilst this is a children's book (8-13 year olds), you will definitely find it entertaining, especially to read aloud to someone, or ones, of more tender years!
